Sopore, Aug 01: The 4th District Baramulla Yogasana Sports Championship 2023-24 came to a successful end at Gulzar Memorial Educational Trust in Sopore on Tuesday.
The championship, organized by the District Baramulla Yogasana Sports Association under the banner of J&K Yogasana Sports Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council, witnessed enthusiastic participation from athletes across sub-junior, junior, and senior categories in both boys and girls, as well as men and women.
A large number of spectators cheered on the participants during the event, highlighting the growing popularity of Yogasana sports in the region. Abdul Hameed Ganie, Secretary of District Baramulla Yogasana Sports Association, along with other office bearers, played a key role in the successful execution of the championship. The chief guest, Shabir Ahmad Raina (ADC Sopore), appreciated their efforts and distributed prizes to the outstanding performers.
During the event, Shabir Ahmad Raina emphasized the importance of Yogasana sports for maintaining physical and mental well-being. He also acknowledged the logistic support provided by Mrs. Nuzhat Gul, Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, in ensuring the smooth conduct of the championship.
The presence of esteemed guests, including Basit Nabi Wani (District Manager Baramulla Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council), Shabir Ahmad Dar (Competition Director Jammu Kashmir Yogasana Sports Association), Khazir Mohammad (Kabaddi coach), and Shabir Ahmad Dar (Yoga Coach Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council), added to the grandeur of the event.
The 4th District Baramulla Yogasana Sports Championship successfully concluded in a peaceful atmosphere, fostering the spirit of sportsmanship and promoting the physical and mental well-being of the participants. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Mrs. Firdousa Nabi to the dignitaries and all the participants who made the championship a memorable success.
