3-day CRPF Hockey Tournament concludes, IG Srinagar sector presides final proceedings

Srinagar, 04 Aug: Ajay Kumar Yadav, IG Srinagar Sector, as Chief Guest proudly announces the triumphant conclusion of the Inter Battalion/Group Centre hockey tournament being organized by 132 Bn CRPF from 2nd to 4th August 2023 at Synthetic Hockey Turf, Polo Ground Srinagar.
The tournament was organised by R.k. Baruah commandant 132bn. After 3 days of exhilarating action and intense competition, the Hockey Tournament has come to a thrilling close, leaving fans and players alike on the edge of their seats. The tournament, which began on 2nd August, showcased the finest talents in the world of hockey and celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.
With 22 teams from various battalions and Group Centre deployed in the valley for law and order, the competition was fierce, and the level of play demonstrated was nothing short of extraordinary. Every match brought forth nail-biting moments, displaying the exceptional skills and dedication of the players.
The grand finale took place on 4th August 23, as the two top teams (23 Bn and 25 Bn of CRPF) battled it out in an unforgettable display of skill, determination, and teamwork, in which 23 Bn clinched the winner trophy with the score of 3 – 1. Both teams left their hearts on the lush green turf, providing a spectacle that will be remembered for years to come.
Ajay Kumar Yadav, IG, CRPF said that We are extremely proud of the tremendous success of the Hockey Tournament. This event has not only showcased the sport’s brilliance but also fostered camaraderie and urged the youth to maintain their fitness and sportsmanship among players and fans alike.”
 
The Hockey Tournament Organised by CRPF would not have been possible without the support of Mrs Nuzhat Gul, Secretary Sports Council of J&K. She remained instrumental in providing the world class facilities for Sports in J&K. IG CRPF categorically mentioned that the CRPF formation deployed in the valley are indeed  immensely grateful to the entire team of Sports Council for their brilliant support in the smooth conduct of the tournament.
Further the Chief Guest also extended his heartfelt gratitude to all dedicated Officers and staff, who worked tirelessly to ensure its success.
IG CRPF also expressed his gratitude to the Armed Police Force of J&K for providing technical support and neutral referees from the hockey team of Jammu and Kashmir Police in conduct of Smooth and fair matches.
The eye-catching, colourful closing ceremony will remain in memory after the enthusiastic March past of the participating teams, prize distribution amidst the enthralling band and bugul.
IG also appreciated all teams and their captains for playing professional hockey during the tournament, Trophy for 2nd runner up -118 BN, Trophy for runner up 25 BN, Trophy for winner 23 BN, Trophy for Man of the Match Birundes Mallick and Trophy for the player of the tournament 118 BN.
