Baramulla, Dec 11: A 45-year-old man died when a walnut tree branch came crashing down on him in Sheeri village in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Mohammed Ashraf Dar, a resident of Shalteng Sheeri in Baramulla.
A police official told Rising Kashmir that Mohammad Ashraf was injured when a branch of a walnut tree he was cutting came crashing down on him.
“The injured was rushed to a nearby healthcare center, however, he was declared dead on arrival,” he added.
A local said that Ashraf was the lone bread earner of his family and is survived by 3 daughters and wife.
Meanwhile in another incident, a pedestrian was killed in a road accident after he was hit by a four wheeler in Tappar area of Pattan in Baramulla.
The deceased was identified as Ghulam Qadir Malik of Daulatpura village of Kreeri.
Police said that a case has been registered and further investigation has been taken up in this regard.
