Srinagar, Dec 11: The Meteorological Department (MeT) has predicted dry and clear weather till December 20 in Kashmir valley.
Director MeT office srinagar, Sonam Lotus told Rising Kashmir that the weather had improved significantly in Kashmir region on Sunday. He said dry weather was expected till 20th December.
“There will be a further dip in minimum temperature across plains and hill stations after 13th December,” he said.
According to met data Srinagar recorded 10.1 °C as the maximum and 3.5 °C as the minimum temperature on sunday. Ski-resort of Gulmarg recorded 0.4°C maximum temperature and minus 4.5°C as the minimum temperature.
Meanwhile Gulmarg and Pahalgam continued to remain under sub-zero temperatures for the second straight day according to officials.
Health resort Pahalgam recorded a maximum of 6.5 °C and a minimum of minus 5.0°C degrees and it was the coldest place in Kashmir region. Qazigund recorded a maximum of 7.5°C and 2.6° C as minimum temperature.
Kupwara in north Kashmir recorded maximum temperatures of 8.8 °C, while minimum temperatures settled at minus 1.8 °C
As per the traffic advisory issued by the traffic department for Monday, subject to fair weather and better road condition, LMVs(passengers) shall be allowed from both sides of Jammu-Srinagar NHW viz Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.
“TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic, it said.
Meanwhile, the Srinagar-Leh and Mughal roads remained closed on the third consecutive day for vehicular movement due to heavy snowfall along both highways.
