Srinagar, Dec 20: A total of 172 terrorists, both local and foreign, have been killed during anti-terror encounters with police and security forces so far this year in Kashmir region, police said on Wednesday.
Talking to Rising Kashmir Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) said total 172 terrorists including 42 foreigners were killed so far in 2022.
“We have crossed last year’s mark that is total kills of terrorists in 2021 was 171 and this year it is 172 till date,” he said.
ADGP Kumar said the number of FT’s killed this year is twice higher as the compared year 2021.”21 FT’s were killed in 2021 while this year 42 FT’s have been killed during the anti-terror operations,” he said.
ADGP Kumar said out of total 172 terrorists, 130 were locals and 42 foreigners were killed during encounters with security forces this year.
He said a large quantity of arms and ammunition has been recovered from the slain terrorists and intense operations against terror will continue in the region.
ADGP Kumar said the joint team of forces are achieving tremendous success in eliminating terrorists in clean sweep operations without any collateral damage to the forces.
He appealed to misguided youth who have joined terror folds to shun the path of terrorism and return to the mainstream.
