Srinagar, Sept 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Police Thursday said that 147 terrorists have been killed so far this year and intense operations against terror will continue in the region.
A senior official in the police department told Rising Kashmir that 147 terrorists including 111 local and 36 foreigners were killed during anti-terror operations in the Valley.
“We have succeeded in killing 147 terrorists including 36 foreigners during the first 9 months of 2022. The anti-terror operations would continue with full intensity,” he said.
The officer said the joint team of forces is achieving tremendous success in eliminating terrorists in clean sweep operations without any collateral damage to the forces.
He appealed to misguided youth who have joined terror folds to shun the path of terrorism and return to the mainstream.
ADGP Kumar urged parents and elders of these terrorists to plead with their wards to shun this reckless path of violence.
The officer said they are also tracking OGWs and hybrid terrorists. Over one dozen OGWs and terrorists have been arrested in the valley.
“Various efforts are being taken to track down ‘terror’ recruitment this year and so far this year around 40 vulnerable youth were counseled across the Valley,” he said.
Following zero infiltration along borders from past two years, we were able to focus to curb terrorist recruitment and it is being tactically controlled, the officer said.
