Ganderbal, Feb 20: Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Ganderbal, Anil Kumar has dismissed reports of mass copying or cheating during the ongoing 10th and 12th-grade examinations at the Gund and Kullan examination centers, terming the allegations as baseless.
Speaking to Rising Kashmir, he revealed that his office had received multiple complaints alleging widespread cheating at the Gund and Kullan centers. In response, a joint team comprising officials from the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) of Hariganiwan, and other education department personnel conducted surprise inspections at both centers.
“After thorough checks, no evidence of mass copying or malpractice was found. The complaints appear to be completely unfounded,” he stated. He urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information that could disrupt the examination process and harm the reputation of the institutions involved.
Bhatt further emphasized that strict measures are in place to ensure the integrity of the examinations. “Our staff is diligently monitoring the students, and only after proper checks are they allowed to enter the examination halls. JKBOSE officials are also closely supervising the process to ensure fairness and transparency,” he added.
The CEO also highlighted that routine inspections are being conducted across all examination centers in collaboration with JKBOSE officials to maintain the credibility of the examination process.
Meanwhile, the civil society in Gund has condemned the allegations, calling them an attempt by miscreants to malign the area’s reputation. They have appealed to the Cyber Crime Police Kashmir to investigate the matter.
The education department has reassured students and parents that the examinations are being conducted smoothly and with utmost transparency.
