Woman injured in landmine blast along LoC in B’la

Baramulla, Nov 04: A 32-year-old woman was injured in a landmine blast along the Line of Control in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday, officials said.
A police official said the woman, Saleema Begum, wife of Abdul Rasheed Khatana, was injured when she accidentally stepped over a landmine near Churunda village of Uri.
"As per the initial reports the injured woman was collecting firewood from a nearby forest area when she stepped over a landmine accidentally," the police official said.
The injured lady was immediately shifted to SDH Uri for treatment where she was later shifted to GMC Baramulla for further treatment.
Block Medical Officer Uri Dr. Ramzan told Rising Kashmir that the lady was shifted to SKIMS, Srinagar for advanced treatment.
"The lady is out of danger. When we received her she had a mangled foot. No other injuries were reported. She has been shifted to the Department of Plastic and Microsurgery, SKIMS," he added.
