Baramulla, Sep 05: Aasima Jan, a devoted teacher at High School Binner, has been recognized for her exceptional contributions to education and community development with the prestigious Best Teacher Award, presented by Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha.

Aasima Jan’s remarkable achievements in the field of education were celebrated at a special event held on Teacher’s Day at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC).

As the driving force behind the “Shrug Off Fear: School is Here” project, Aasima Jan introduced an innovative approach to education that captured the attention of students and created a dynamic learning environment.

The project not only succeeded in attracting students to the school but also nurtured their curiosity and ignited a passion for learning.

In addition to her efforts within the school, Jan played a pivotal role in a highly effective enrollment campaign.

An official of the education department said that the teacher Aasima Jan used to personally visit homes in the school’s catchment areas, resulting in the enrollment of numerous students from private institutions into High School Binner.

He said that Aasima Jan’s commitment to social awareness extended beyond the classroom.

“She actively promoted women’s hygiene and empowerment, tackled drug abuse issues, and advocated for the education of specially-abled children, significantly boosting their self-confidence,” the official further added.

Jan’s dedication to educational excellence was further evident through her successful and result-oriented workshops conducted in collaboration with organizations such as SBA, NIPUN, FLN, and Item Development.

Upon receiving the Best Teacher Award, Aasima Jan expressed her gratitude and shared, “Teaching is my passion, and this recognition fuels my dedication. It is always heartening when your department acknowledges and appreciates your achievements.”

She also extended her thanks to CEO Baramulla, Balbir Singh, for his recognition and support.
