A healthy diet should include several food groups

  1. Dairy, dark greens, enriched cereal and juice, some soy products and certain seafood provide calcium.
  2. Healthy fats, especially from plant oil, promote brain development and blood clotting.
  3. During their reproductive years, women should also take a daily supplement that provides 400 mcg of folic acid.
