15-day training on scientific sheep & goat rearing begins at KVK Budgam

Srinagar, Nov 15: A 15-day skill development programme for employment generation on ‘Scientific Sheep and Goat Rearing’ commenced at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, SKUAST-K, Budgam on Tuesday. 
This training is being conducted in collaboration with Sheep Husbandry Department Budgam under the aspirational block development programme 2022-23 for the Surasyar and Pakherpora blocks of the district. The training programme aims to build an entrepreneurial mindset among the youth and develop their skills so that they can launch their own business ventures. A total of 48 participants from both aspirational blocks attended the inaugural function. 
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Chadoora, Prince Noorul Hamid, who was the chief guest on the occasion, appreciated KVK Budgam and Sheep Husbandry Department Budgam for conducting the important skill development training programme under the aspirational block. 
Senior Scientist and Head KVK Budgam, Dr Bilal Ahmad Lone highlighted the importance of the training programme for the upliftment of the farming community. District Sheep Husbandry Officer Budgam, Dr Mohammad Ashraf Baba talked about the role of the sheep husbandry department in the socio-economic upliftment of the people who are associated with this sector. Dr Mir Nadeem Hassan (Scientist Animal Science KVK Budgam & training coordinator) gave a detailed overview of the skill development programme, its purpose and the procedure for the training. The programme started with a welcome address by Dr Nisar Ahmad Nisar (VAS SDB Nagam).
