Srinagar, Apr 28: In a pivotal convention held at Bagander-Lasjan, prominent political leader Zaffer Mir (Lasjan) assembled his core members from Chadoora Constituency to announce his unwavering support for People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Waheed Parra in the upcoming Parliamentary elections for the Srinagar Lok Sabha seat.
Addressing the gathering, Zaffer Mir emphasized the significance of this moment, stating, “It is time to give young and new faces a chance to represent the voice of the people at the highest legislative body of the country, a privilege that the people of Central Kashmir, especially Chadoora Constituency, have not had before.”
He said, “This is a pivotal time to make our votes count, and instead of dwelling on those who have tremendously wronged our mandate, we must focus on the future that will ultimately help us improve the lives of our youth with good employment opportunities and a secure future. Therefore, after extensive discussions and at the request of PDP President Mehbooba Mufti ji, I and my dedicated workers across Budgam district and Srinagar have decided to rally our support behind PDP Candidate Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra.”
The grand convention was graced by numerous PDP leaders, including Waheed Parra, who expressed gratitude to Zaffer Mir for his support, asserting, “This family has deep historical political roots, and their backing will make a significant difference in our quest to garner public support.”
“This time, we can rewrite history and take the helm in our hands to shape a better future for our generations. Our resolve is to restore our identity and support our youth who are either incarcerated, involved in drug abuse, or depressed. We will usher in a change, but your support is paramount,” he added.
As the convention drew to a close, scores from various parts of Chadoora joined Zaffer Mir Lasjan, asserting that they were heavily impressed by his public welfare works and unwavering commitment to the cause.
