BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Monday termed the announcements made by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections as lies and propaganda.
Chugh criticized AAP’s leadership, stating that the promises made by the party during the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections remain unfulfilled after two and a half years.
He said that promises such as free electricity, employment for youth, and an end to corruption have turned out to be mere election slogans.
Chugh said that under Bhagwant Mann’s leadership, the condition of Punjab’s cities has worsened. Issues such as water supply, sewage systems, traffic management, and waste disposal remain unresolved.
He further said that the key cities, which were promised development, are now plagued by chaos and disorder. He emphasized that the government’s claims of providing jobs to the youth are nowhere to be seen in practice.
Referring to AAP’s recent claims in the Municipal Corporation elections, Chugh questioned their credibility, particularly the promise of 100 electric buses and charging points. He asked, “Is this the same government that promised to develop every village and city? What has been accomplished in two and a half years?” He added that this is the same party that vowed to provide corruption-free governance, yet now stands entangled in corruption allegations.
Chugh also said that the people of Punjab have now seen through AAP’s falsehoods. He emphasized that the people are looking for a change, a change that only the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) can bring.
He reiterated that BJP’s politics is based on development, transparency, and public service and assured that the BJP will provide the good governance the people of Punjab have long awaited.
He concluded by stating that the people of Punjab are fed up with false promises and misleading politics. He urged the public to support the BJP in the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections to usher in a new era of development in the state.
