Srinagar, Jan 30: Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday said that the aim of Bharat Jodo Yatra was not winning elections but to unite people against hatred and raise their issues that are being ignored.
Addressing the mega rally in Srinagar, he said Yatra was not for winning elections but against hate.
“Rahul Gandhi has proven that he can unite the country from Kanyakumari to Kashmir on issues like unemployment and inflation and stated that BJP, RSS are spreading hate in the country, ” he said.
Kharge also alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the RSS, and the BJP were pursuing the policy of widening the poor-rich divide in the country.
“They want to keep poor people poor and to make the rich, richer. Ten percent people are looting 72 percent of the country while 50 percent own just three percent,” he said.
Kharge said we have to fight against it and we will fight especially the problem of Kashmir here it was made union territory but Rahul Gandhi ji has the intention of making it an assembly and bring statehood here,” he said.
Congress President also felicitated Rahul and those who fought on the road today, met many people, met with love and as it was just told that he opened a shop of love in the market of hatred.
Earlier Congress Chief also unfurled the national flag at the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters and also unveiled a memorial for the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
