Srinagar, Oct 24: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed the ‘Akhil Bhartiya Kavi Sammelan’ at Raj Bhawan today. The event marked the culmination of the three-day literary festival ‘Jashn-e-Sangam,’ organized by the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with Wadies Hindi Shiksha Samiti.
During his address, the Lt Governor extended his felicitations to the acclaimed poets and litterateurs participating in the Kavi Sammelan, emphasizing the essential role of writers in societal progress and nation building. He highlighted the significant contributions of poets and writers in shaping ideas and preserving the region’s rich artistic and cultural heritage.
Sinha stated that the power of knowledge, ideas, and imagination fostered by writers provides fresh perspectives and contributes to the prosperity and well-being of society.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Suresh Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary of the Culture Department; Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, Principal Secretary to the Lt Governor; Harvinder Kour, Secretary of JKAACL; Kumar Manoj, Patron of Wadies Hindi Shiksha Samiti; Nasreen Ali “Nidhi,” National President of Wadies Hindi Shiksha Samiti; along with numerous literary personalities and youth.
