Srinagar: The two day Critical Care Update Conference and Workshop concluded at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar. Organized by the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care, the two-day event attracted a diverse group of medical professionals dedicated to enhancing critical care practices.
Reflecting on the event, Prof (Dr). Hina Bashir noted, “The conference provided an invaluable platform for sharing knowledge and skills. It was heartening to see such enthusiasm from participants eager to elevate their practice in critical care.”
Under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Iffat Hassan, Principal of GMC Srinagar, and with Prof (Dr) Javid Naqshbandi serving as the organizing secretary, the conference welcomed distinguished guests from all around the Country.
Dr Syed Aabid Rashid Shah, Secretary of the Health and Medical Services Education Department J&K also attended virtually highlighting the need of such conferences to stay up to date and improve healthcare and patient care in the Valley.
One of the key moments of the conference was the launch of a new protocol book by Prof. Dr. Ashraf Ganai, Director SKIMS for ICU management, which aims to standardize practices and improve patient care across critical settings.
This year’s event, endorsed by the All India Difficult Airway Association (AIDAA), featured a lineup of national experts, including Dr. Kajal Jain, Dr. Syed Moied Ahmad, and Dr. Vima Rewari. Their expertise contributed to lively discussions and practical workshops that greatly enriched the learning experience for participants.
Feedback from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many highlighting the balance of theory and hands-on training as particularly beneficial.
The event fostered a sense of community among healthcare professionals and emphasized the importance of continuous education in critical care.
The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care wishes to express its gratitude to the All India Difficult Airway Association, the national faculty, sponsors, and all participants who contributed to the conference’s success. With this event concluding, there is a strong anticipation for future conferences that will further advance critical care training and education.
