Terrorism Case: SIU Awantipora, Kishtwar raids multiple locations in respective areas

Srinagar, May 17: Continuing its crackdown on terror elements, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Awantipora and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Kishtwar respectively carried out raids at multiple locations in their respective jurisdictions.
A police spokesman said Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Awantipora Police Wednesday carried out raids at multiple locations at ReshiporaTral in connection with case registered vide FIR No. 10/2023 of Police Station Tral.
“The searched locations are residential houses of three suspects namely Manzoor Ahmed wani S/O GulamMohdinwani R/O ReshiporaTral, Mouhsin Ahmed Lone  R/O ReshipiraTral and Ariaf Bashir Bhat S/O Bashir Ahmed Bhat R/O Reshiporatral,” he said.
The spokesman said during the search, proper SOPs were followed and relevant information was gathered and incriminating material was recovered by the SIU Awantipora. It is pertinent to mention here that searches were conducted to collect more evidences of their involvement in other terror crimes, he said.
Meanwhile Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Kishtwar carried out raids at multiple locations in Kishtwar District.
SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal said that raids were conducted after obtaining house search warrants from NIA court Jammu in case FIR No 272/2022 registered under UAPA Act at PS Kishtwar.
“We had got search warrants against terrorists namely  Shahnawaz @ Nayeem S/O Gh. Mohd R/O ChiroolPadyarna, Nayeem Ahmed @ Amir/Gazi  R/O Near Jamia Masjid Kishtwar, Mohd Iqbal @ Bilal S/O Mohd Akber Butt R/O Near Kichloo Market Kishtwar, Shahnawaz Kanth @ Munna @ Umer S/O Abdul Rasheed R/O Hullar Kishtwar and JavidHussainGiri @ Muzamil S/O Mohd Amin Giri R/O KundaliPochal who are presently operating from POK/PAK, searched their respective residential premises,” he said.
SSP said during the course of searches, the evidences collected shall be investigated so as to subject the accused persons to judicial determination for their involvement in anti-national activities and perpetuation of terrorism.
He, further, disclosed that all those supporter/associates of terrorists whose involvement surfaces during investigations shall also be prosecuted.
