Spirit of freedom to soar high at Ghanta Ghar today

Srinagar, Aug 14: The historic Ghanta Ghar at Lal Chowk, Srinagar, echoed with the spirit of patriotism on Thursday as the J&K Peace Foundation, in collaboration with Swadesh Sanatan Sangh, announced the grand celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Kumbh Mohatsav.The event, scheduled for August 15, 2025, at 5 PM, will pay tribute to the valour of India’s freedom fighters and celebrate 78 years of independence with messages of unity, the Foundation’s leadership said during a press conference here.Organisers called upon the people of Jammu & Kashmir to gather at Lal Chowk in large numbers, transforming the heart of the city into a vibrant symbol of national pride and collective harmony.Leaders from different religious backgrounds will address the gathering and emphasise that India’s strength lies in its cultural and spiritual diversity, they said.
