Srinagar, Nov 07: After nine months, Jammu and Kashmir Police Monday produced a charge sheet against five accused persons including three slain terrorists involved in kidnapping and killing of an army soldier in Lokipora Khag area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The accused were identified by Police as Athar Illahi Sheikh over ground worker (OGW) of LeT (presently lodged in Kot Bilawal Jail), Foreign terrorist Ghazi Bhai alias Pathan Bhai (LeT terrorist at large) and three slain LeT terrorists including Mohammad Yousuf Dar alias Kantroo, Faisal Hafeez Dar , Hilal Ahmad Sheikh alias Hanzullah.
Earlier on March 07, this year, Police Station Khag received a complaint about the missing of one in-service army soldier on leave of 05 JAKLI namely Mohammad Sameer Malla of Lokipora Khag. Accordingly, search for the missing person was started by the police.
After three days, the dead body of the missing soldier was found buried in a ditch in the fields of village Labran Khag. Accordingly a formal Case FIR number 09/2022 U/S 364, 302 IPC was registered in Police Station Khag and the investigation was taken up.
A police spokesman said during the investigation, one OGW Ather Illahi Sheikh was apprehended, who later during questioning admitted that he along with other four accused terrorists of LeT abducted Mohammad Sameer Malla. They tortured him that resulted in his death, he said.
“Sheikh was later arrested and during the investigation, three accused terrorists involved in the crime got killed in anti-terror operation in village Malwa Kunzar on April 22nd while one accused Ghazi Bhai alias Pathan of Pakistan origin is still at large,” he said.
The spokesman said the investigation thus conducted established the offences under sections 364, 302,392, 201,149 IPC,16,18,19,20,38,39 ULA(P) Act against the above 05 accused and therefore the charge sheet was accordingly produced before a competent court of law after obtaining the sanction from the competent authority.
