The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) carried out an impactful cleanliness drive on Sunday in Zone East, Ward eighteen, as part of the ongoing “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” campaign.

Today’s initiative focused on cleanliness of Jhelum Bund from Cement Kadal to Safakadal to elevate cleanliness standard and promote hygiene in the specific zone.

The drive was led by the Chief Sanitation Officer, along with Zonal Sanitation Officers and other SMC officials.

The activity enhanced overall cleanliness and visual appeal of the designated area as a large quantity of waste was collected and disposal off in a proper manner besides unwanted vegetation and grass was also cleared.

Srinagar Municipal Corporation works to establish a cleaner and healthier environment for the residents, thereby contributing towards the welfare of the city.

The SMC also works to instill a sense of civic duty among citizens and encourage adoption of sustainable and hygienic practices.
