Kulgam, Feb 16: Drug Control department Friday closed down the operations of six medical shops in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district due to violations of norms.
An official said that the operations of the six chemist shops were disallowed, and shops were shut down, following inspections in several villages of Kulgam district.
The team, under the guidance of Assistant Drug Controller, Anantnag, and Kulgam, inspected medical shops in Kilam, Hablish, Devsar, Brinal, Agroo and Lammer.
He said the chemists were found to be non-compliant in maintaining records of habit-forming drugs and had not installed CCTV and other conditions of licences.
“The chemists have been informed that maintaining records and installing CCTVs are essential,” he said, adding that chemists found violating these rules are being shut down and their operations disallowed.
