Mumbai, Aug 22: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu & Kashmir unit on Thursday said it received a green signal from the party’s high command to participate in the assembly elections in the union territory.
The party in a statement said the first list of candidates has been finalised and the ‘Vachan Nama’ for the people of J&K has been released.
After a thorough discussion in a meeting held with the high command and Jammu & Kashmir unit chief at Sena Bhavan, Mumbai, the party MP, Anil Desai released the party manifesto and the first list of candidates for Jammu and Kashmir, the statement said, adding that Desai issued the mandate with the best wishes for victory.
Giving detailed information after the meeting, Sahni said, “The party chief Uddhav Thackeray was worried about the breach of promise with the people of Jammu & Kashmir, violation of the rights of the local people and the inability to ensure the safe return of Kashmiri Pandits to the valley.”
He said the party’s J&K unit was instructed to gear up to participate in the Jammu & Kashmir assembly elections with the resolve to “restore the rights of the sons of the soil”.
The names of the party candidates will be announced in Jammu on Friday, Sahni.
