Srinagar, Sep 18: Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board, Dr DarakhshanAndrabi Saturday toured Ramban district and inspected many properties and assets of J&K Waqf Board at Ramban and Banihal.
The official spokesperson said that accompanied the by Deputy Commissioner of RambanMussarat Islam, Dr DarakhshanAndrabi visited many sites of Waqf and took stock of the utility & productivity of these assets.
Dr Andrabi met many public delegations and discussed Waqf management related issues with them. Waqf Board Chairperson thanked the Deputy Commissioner for his assurance to help the Board in ground verification of the status of assets so that a faultless digital record base is created in the district.
“Waqf assets in Chinab valley have suffered a lot during past decades and we have decided to formulate a potent action plan to make Waqf properties & assets in the valley productive,” said Dr Darakhshan. She said that due to the negligence & faulty management of the earlier administrations, Waqf properties & assets have suffered a huge loss and we are committed to correct the faults so that no scope for any such mismanagement remains in the system. “Physical verification of the assets and the digitization of records will be done soon with the help of the district administration and we will ensure that each & every property is converted into a productive unit,” said Waqf Board Chairperson. Mudassir Iqbal, the Administrator of the Waqf Board also accompanied the Chairperson. Dr Andrabi thanked Chairperson of Municipal Committee RambanSunita Devi Ji for her support & help to Waqf Board. BJYM General Secretary of RambanRakesh Kumar & other district level officers of various departments also met Dr Andrabi. Later the Chairperson presided over a meeting with the Waqf staff and the Imams of the district in which many issues were discussed and the new roadmap of the Board was shared with them. “Immense public support to the very bold Waqf Board decision has strengthened over resolve to cleanse the system of all evils which were made part of the system in Waqf to utilize it for personal gains. We assure the public of J&K that the mistrust of the public for the Waqf Board will soon die down as Waqf is destined to flourish beyond all expectations of everybody,” said Dr Darakhshan.
