Jammu, Aug 22: “If the Apni Party will fill up all the vacant posts if it forms the government in Jammu & Kashmir,” the party’s Provincial President, Jammu and former minister, S. Manjit Singh said on Thursday.
“The party leadership is concerned over the growing unemployment among the educated youth in J&K. Therefore, it is imperative to provide employment opportunities to the youth, which were not available in the last several years,” he said
According to a party statement, the former minister during a meeting in Samba’s Bari Brahmana and Vijaypur, expressed concern over the educated youth indulging in drug addiction and other illegal activities. “This is because of poor chances of employment in government as well as private sector,” he said.
In these election campaign meetings, Singh said if the party forms the next government in J&K, it will launch a recruitment drive in villages along the International Border and Line of Control to recruit the aspiring youth in the army, paramilitary and J&K Police because the border residents play an important role to combat terrorism and defend the nation’s borders.
Meanwhile, the Apni Party leader urged the people to vote in large numbers to “replace the present form of government that has undermined the people and the public representatives”.
“The anger among the people had been brewing for the last several years because of the alleged repressive policies adopted by the authorities in implementing unilateral and anti-people policies,” he said.
Singh pointed out the “poor response” of the Tourism Department towards promoting religious sites in the Samba district.
“It appears that the authorities are not interested in developing infrastructure, and tourism in Samba,” he said.
