Jammu, Sep 13: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived in Jammu for a crucial three-day visit to the Union Territory, with a focus on preparations for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He engaged in closed-door discussions with top Sangh leaders to assess the political landscape in Jammu & Kashmir.
Upon his arrival in Jammu, Bhagwat headed to Keshav Bhawan, the RSS headquarters at Amphalla, under tight security.
“The RSS chief held a meeting with the top RSS leaders of J&K including the Pracharaks at Keshav Bhawan-Jammu and sought detailed feedback from them about the functioning of Sangh across J&K besides seeking detailed report card about the implementation of various organisational programmes across the UT,” a senior RSS leader, wishing not to be named, told Rising Kashmir.
Bhagwat directed J&K RSS leaders to expand the Sangh’s presence by reaching out to people from all walks of life and raising awareness about RSS ideology, the leader said.
In his three-day visit, the RSS chief will review the organisation’s readiness for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and evaluate the ongoing programmes, especially those aimed at expanding the Sangh Parivar’s reach through social and public outreach initiatives.
The primary objective of Bhagwat’s visit to J&K is to assess the RSS’s organisational readiness ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He will also meet various RSS-affiliated bodies and wings, including ABVP, Sewa Bharti, VHP, and others, to gather information on the political situation in J&K and gain insights into the progress of ongoing RSS programmes.
