Jammu, Nov 24: Royal Association for Science-Led Socio-Cultural Advancement (RASSA) has honoured Dr Poonam Parihar, Associate Professor, working in the Division of Agricultural Extension Education of SKUAST-Jammu, with the ‘best teacher award’ during the national conference held on “Natural Farming for Sustainable Agriculture & National Prosperity”.
The event was jointly organized by Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University, Royal Association for Science-Led Socio-Cultural Advancement and Akshay Krishi Parivar at SDAU, Krushinagar.
The award has been conferred on Dr Parihar in recognition of her excellence in teaching and guiding the students and her contribution in extension education in general and entrepreneurship development in particular.
Dr Poonam has authored two books titled “Women Entrepreneurs – A Socio Economic Study” and “Impact of Dairy SHs on the Livelihood of Women Dairy Entrepreneurs”. She has also contributed a number of book chapters in many books and has around 150 publications in her credit including 25 research papers published in different esteemed journals. She is the recipient of awards in recognition of her distinguished services to science and society. Dr Poonam Parihar is acting as Chairperson of the RASSA Chapter, Jammu.
