Srinagar, March 10: Minister for Jal Shakti, Javed Ahmed Rana, on Monday, said that a 2.50 MGD (Million Gallons per Day) water treatment plant has been proposed at Tatoo Ground. The statement was made in response to a query raised by J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president and MLA Tariq Hameed Karra during the Assembly session.
Karra had asked whether a Detailed Project Report (DPR) amounting to Rs. 33.31 crore had been prepared for the construction of a 3.0 MGD Water Treatment Plant (RSFP) at Tatoo Ground under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme. He also inquired about the status of approval for the DPR and the timeline for the commencement of the project.
Responding to Karra’s query, Rana said, “No DPR has been proposed under AMRUT 2.0. However, a pre-feasibility report for a 2.5 MGD water treatment plant for the proposed theme park at Tatoo Ground has been prepared, which also covers parts of the Batamaloo area.”
