Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Handwara arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A Spokesperson said that a police team of Police Station Villgam at a checkpoint established at Champora Crossing intercepted 02 suspicious persons. They have been identified as Mohammed Gulzar Mir son of Gh Mohi-ud-din Mir resident of Amargarh Sharkoot and Faisal Ahmed Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir resident of Manzgam. During search, 62 grams of contraband Charas-like substances was recovered from their possession.
“Both the accused have been arrested. Accordingly, a case under relevant section of law stands registered in Police Station Villgam and investigation initiated”, he said.
