Modi’s Doda rally set for September 14
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath Nitin Gadkari, and other BJP stalwarts to campaign in J&K’s final phase
BJP to mobilize full strength in third phase
JAMMU, Sept 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah are set to spearhead the BJP’s campaign across all three phases of the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, with a key focus on the party’s stronghold during the final phase.
Prime Minister Modi will address a mega election rally in Doda on September 14, where all BJP candidates from the Chenab Valley are expected to be present as per directives from the party’s high command.
Highly placed sources within the party informed that the BJP plans to exert its full force during the third phase of the Assembly elections, which will feature its stronghold constituencies including Jammu West, Jammu East, Bahu, Udhampur, Akhnoor, RS Pura South, Ramgarh, Billawar, Samba, Vijaipur, among others.
“While the BJP is committed to focusing on each phase of the Assembly election, our primary emphasis is on the third phase, where our traditional strongholds will be voting,” a senior BJP leader stated.
In addition to Modi and Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also scheduled to campaign in J&K during the third phase, aimed at appealing to the Hindu electorate. The BJP will also be supported by other key figures including Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, BJP National President JP Nadda, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami, and former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
The J&K BJP unit has been actively preparing for Modi’s rally in Doda, with senior leader Munish Sharma leading a series of meetings to ensure its success. The RSS has also intensified its efforts, with approximately 500 Shakhas in the Jammu region mobilising public opinion and support for the BJP.
Sources indicate that the RSS is working in mission mode to secure a BJP victory in J&K, with top BJP and RSS strategists already on the ground in Jammu to galvanise support.
In a recent rally in Jammu, Home Minister Amit Shah had said “Take my word, NC-Cong will never form a government in J&K.” He emphasised the party’s determination to ensure a BJP-led government in the region, reaffirming this commitment during his address at the Manhas Sabha in Janipur, Jammu.
