Kargil, Mar 01: Players of SAI Center Kargil shine at the All India Inter SAI Taekwondo Championship 2023 which concluded on at IG Stadium New Delhi.
SAI STC Kargil represents Regional Centre Chandigarh in which 13 players Participated and secured 3 Bronze medals.
Shanaz Batool won Bronze Medal in Individual Poomsae in Junior category, Sumaira Aamir Bronze Medal in Kyorugi Junior in U- 55 Kg and Palak Gauri won Bronze Medal in Senior over- 67 Kg.
Mohd Ali Coach STC Kargil and Sadiq Ali accompanied the team.
The tournament is being held to commemorate the 50th year of India-Korea diplomatic relations. Athletes from all over India competed in the tournament.
General Secretary Ladakh Taekwondo Association Anayat Ali congratulated the Team Led by Coach Mohd Ali. He thanked Ministry of Sports and the Sports Department UT Ladakh as well as LAHDC Kargil for providing the best facility as well as coach for the players of STC Kargil and urged upon the Sports Authority of India to increase the roll for Taekwondo at STC Kargil as Kargil has the best taekwondo athletes of Ladakh and some of the Gems like Shahnaz Parveen, Zeeshan Mehdi, Sonam Chosphal are the result of the STC Kargil.
Meanwhile Ghulam Mustafa In-charge SAI Center Kargil congratulated the Team and appreciated the role of Mohd Ali Coach and Sadiq Ali for the efforts to bring out the best of the players and hoped that in future better result will be there. He also informed that SAI Centre Kargil Players also excelled in the recently concluded Junior Nationals of Taekwondo.
