People should not be deprived of genuine rights: DC Shopian

Shopian, May 24: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian Faz Lul Haseeb on Wednesday presided over a weekly block diwas programme at Chitragam to listen and redress the grievances and issues of the people at their doorsteps.
While interacting with the people, the DC said the main aim and objective of block diwas is to take a firsthand appraisal of issues and grievances of immediate nature for timely redressal at the doorsteps of people. He directed the officers to work with a missionary zeal so that the people of the area may not be deprived of their genuine rights.
During the programme, various issues pertaining to rural development, developmental and welfare requirements, and welfare and employment-based issues were put forth by PRI members and public representatives of the areas for redressal. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of people from various spheres of life.
The issues of public importance including the availability of drinking water under JJM, construction of bridge at Satrajan Chitragam Reban road, ambulance at chitragam, establishment of Workshop at Chitragam, Rationalisation of staff in animal/sheep husbandry and health institutions, macadamization of left out roads, establishment of Fire Service Station and Hospital at Chitragam were brought into the notice of authorities.
Besides, the upgradation of a high school to a higher secondary school, health centre at Dachoo, upgradation of infrastructure at UPS Dachoo, playfield at Dachoo, primary school at Kashowabridge at Narwani D K Pora road, and various other demands were flagged-off during the weekly outreach programme.
The DC listened to the demands raised by people and directed the concerned officers to ensure prompt and speedy redressal of issues and demands of people. The officers present on the spot also responded to various queries and issues raised by the people and various other issues were also redressed on the spot.
Among others, the programme was attended by PRIs, besides district/sectoral officers and representatives of line departments.
