Srinagar, Dec 22: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and constituency in-charge for Habba Kadal, Arif Laigaroo on Sunday convened a key meeting with local residents to discuss various pressing issues and strategies for public engagement.
Laigaroo, according to a statement issued here, called for preparing for the upcoming municipal elections. He urged party workers to galvanise support and ensure active participation.
During the discussions, Laigaroo called for a collective effort to combat social evils, particularly the increasing concerns around drug abuse affecting youth in the area. He urged the attendees to closely monitor the activities of young people within their communities and work towards ensuring a supportive environment for personal development and societal well-being.
Expressing his concern over the ongoing challenges faced by the people of Kashmir, the PDP leader prayed for the restoration of lasting peace in the region. “Unity and proactive measures among party workers are crucial for navigating the complexities of the current socio-political landscape,” he said.
Laigaroo urged the participants to attend the death anniversary of the late Mufti Mohammed Syed, founder of the PDP, which will be commemorated on January 7 at Dara Shikul Park, Bijbehara.
