Srinagar, July 25: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday held a meeting at its headquarters here, with a focus on the Habba Kadal constituency.
Senior PDP leader and former MLC Khursheed Alam, along with State Secretary and Habba Kadal constituency in-charge Arif Laigaroo and District President Srinagar Abdul Qayoom Bhat, led the meeting, the party said in a statement, adding that Zone President Sameer ul Jameel organised the event.
During the meeting, various issues related to strengthening the party were discussed. The leaders stressed the importance of preparing for the assembly and local bodies’ elections.
Arif Laigaroo said elections are crucial to ensuring a sense of security for the masses. He urged the people to combat social evils, such as drug abuse and to engage the youth positively.
Laigaroo expressed concern over the current situation in Kashmir and prayed for long-lasting peace, the statement said. He encouraged participants to attend the upcoming PDP Foundation Day in large numbers.
The meeting was attended by members including Fayaz Rah, Sheikh Nauman Aqib, Farooq Tufail Bhat, Burhan Ahmed, Saleem Ahmed, Arsalan Ahmed, Mohammad Yaseen, Muzaffar Ahmed and others.
