Srinagar, Feb 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Election Department, in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024, today organized a one-day workshop for political parties at the office of Chief Electoral Officer, Darul-Intikhab, Srinagar.
The training programme, which was attended by representatives of major political parties of Jammu and Kashmir, covered all important aspects of the election process including nomination, qualification and disqualification of candidature, EVM preparedness, Election Expenditure Monitoring, Model Code of Conduct besides media certification and monitoring committees. The representatives were also apprised of poll day-related Standard Operating Procedures to be observed by them as well as the contesting candidates.
Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole, who inaugurated the session, stressed the central role of political parties in a vibrant democracy like India.
