Srinagar, March 13: Paras Health Srinagar Thursday celebrated World Kidney Day with great enthusiasm, under the leadership of Gladwin Sandeep Nayyar, Facility Director at Paras Hospital Srinagar.
The event was marked by a gathering of prominent doctors from Paras Health Srinagar, who emphasised the importance of kidney health and the need for awareness about kidney diseases. This year’s World Kidney Day theme was highlighted and the team of doctors stressed the significance of early detection and prevention of kidney diseases. Nayyar expressed his commitment to providing quality healthcare services and promoting awareness about kidney health in the community.
The event served as a platform to educate the public about the importance of maintaining healthy kidneys and the available treatment options for kidney diseases at Paras Health Srinagar. In his message Nayyar said: “On World Kidney Day, I want to emphasise the importance of taking care of our kidneys. Our kidneys play a vital role in maintaining our overall health and it’s crucial that we prioritise their well-being. At Paras Hospital Srinagar, we are committed to providing quality healthcare services and promoting awareness about kidney health. I urge everyone to take small steps towards a healthier lifestyle, such as—drinking plenty of water, maintaining a balanced diet, exercising regularly, managing blood pressure and sugar levels. Let’s work together to promote kidney health and reduce the risk of kidney diseases. If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.”
In his message from Tajamul Fazli, Director: Uro-Onco Surgery, Paras Health Srinagar said: “I feel immensely privileged to be part of the Paras family in celebrating World Kidney Day today. I am honoured to be involved in delivering the best possible renal healthcare with an excellent team at our state-of-the-art facility at Paras Srinagar. This is made possible by the amazing dedication and collaboration of our Hospital Administration Department. Once again, I wish everyone a very happy World Kidney Day.”
Mufti Mahmood Ahmed, Director of Urology, Paras Hospital Srinagar in his message said: “World Kidney Day is celebrated globally every year on March 13 with different themes. The theme for World Kidney Day 2025 is ‘Are Your Kidneys Okay? Detect Early, Protect Kidney Health’. The purpose of this theme is to raise global awareness about kidney health and highlight the importance of early detection and intervention in preventing kidney disease. It emphasises the need to understand risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and a family history of kidney disease. Additionally, it underscores the necessity of timely testing for at-risk populations. Celebrating this day aims to create public awareness and sensitise the population to take proper care of their kidneys.”
In his message, Hilal Ahmad Malla, Senior Consultant Nephrology, Paras Health Srinagar said: “On World Kidney Day, we urge you to prioritise your kidney health. Early detection and prevention are key to reducing the risk of kidney disease. Conditions like diabetes, hypertension, obesity and heart disease can impact your kidneys, but timely check-ups and a healthy lifestyle can make a difference. Stay hydrated, eat a balanced diet, exercise regularly and get your kidney function tested if you’re at risk. Your kidneys work silently—let’s take care of them before it’s too late.”
