The theme for World Kidney Day 2025 is ‘Are Your Kidneys Okay? Detect Early, Protect Kidney Health’. The purpose of this theme is to raise global awareness about kidney health and highlight the importance of early detection and intervention in preventing kidney disease. It emphasises the need to understand risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and a family history of kidney disease. Additionally, it underscores the necessity of timely testing for at-risk populations. Celebrating this day aims to create public awareness and sensitise the population to take proper care of their kidneys.”
In his message, Hilal Ahmad Malla, Senior Consultant Nephrology, Paras Health Srinagar said: “On World Kidney Day, we urge you to prioritise your kidney health. Early detection and prevention are key to reducing the risk of kidney disease. Conditions like diabetes, hypertension, obesity and heart disease can impact your kidneys, but timely check-ups and a healthy lifestyle can make a difference. Stay hydrated, eat a balanced diet, exercise regularly and get your kidney function tested if you’re at risk. Your kidneys work silently—let’s take care of them before it’s too late.”
