Jammu, Aug 10: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri on Thursday said that a “New Kashmir” is getting reflected through vlogs and exhibitions, which establishes that people are enjoying their freedom that has come after the abrogation of Article 370.
He appreciated the way young boys and girls in Kashmir are enjoying the “free air” on motorcycles, making vlogs, and holding exhibitions as well as musical events on the newly-developed streets and bazaars of Srinagar city.
Suri in a statement said, “This controversial article had not only blocked the progress and prosperity of the people of Kashmir but had also created an atmosphere of unrest, strikes and stone pelting. Now that militancy has been wiped out, separatism has been nailed and development is building a free atmosphere for the people to move and fulfill their dreams that were suppressed for decades, a New Kashmir is emerging on the horizon of world tourism.”
He encouraged young boys and girls for their startups, new businesses, vlogs, and events that are projecting a new Kashmir across the world, and said the art exhibition at Polo View Road followed by a musical event where traditional Kashmiri music was brought forth before the travellers and tourists and another photo exhibition wherein pictures of the Kashmir of 18th century are on display, is attracting crowds and building a new movement in Kashmir.
“The youth of Kashmir, by these activities, are erasing bad memories and moving on. Earlier, political dispensations used to instigate and mislead youth, and even create false narratives of the Indian government. Today, the same youth is themselves watching the actions of the Union government for transforming Kashmir and creating an atmosphere of freedom wherein people can do whatever they like and carry on cultural activities promoting Kashmir in a big way,” he said.
“The fear psychosis that had gripped Kashmir for decades due to misrule by political parties like NC, Congress or PDP, has been done away with. Today, a set of people belonging to the new generation are using every medium and platform to project Kashmir, do business, enjoy cultural extravaganza, and also contribute to nation-building. Many good vloggers have earned YouTube buttons and are continuing to do good work for the nation,” the BJP leader said.
Raman Suri said, “Though a girl riding a bike in Srinagar was fined by cops for not wearing a helmet which is right too, yet she has been able to make a point that Jammu and Kashmir is progressing at par with any other state or UT in the country. Besides, days have changed and Kashmir is heading towards a new era of peace, prosperity, and development. Young boys and girls have adapted to the change and have happily embraced this development post abrogation of Article 370 to pave the way for their bright future.”
