Srinagar, Jan 16: The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced on Thursday that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 will be conducted in a Pen and Paper format (OMR-based) on a single day and in a single shift, as decided by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
This information was conveyed in a Public Notice issued by the NTA, which has been conducting NEET UG on behalf of the NMC since 2019.
According to Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, the NEET UG must be conducted as a common and uniform entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical education across all medical institutions. Similarly, as per Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, NEET UG will be used for admission to undergraduate courses in disciplines such as BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS under the Indian System of Medicine at all medical institutions governed by this Act. Additionally, NEET UG will also apply to the BHMS course under the National Commission for Homeopathy, the notice stated.
The NTA also informed that candidates aspiring for the Military Nursing Service (MNS) and seeking admission to the B.Sc. Nursing courses conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2025 are required to qualify for NEET UG. The NEET UG score will be used to shortlist candidates for selection into the four-year B.Sc. Nursing course.
Further, as decided by the NMC, the NEET UG 2025 will be conducted in Pen and Paper mode (OMR-based), in a single day and single shift.
For any further clarification related to NEET UG 2025, candidates can contact the NTA at 011-40759000 or email at [email protected]. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official website at https://neet.nta.nic.in/ for additional updates.
