JAMMU, Jan 24: In a positive turn of events, all three patients from Bhadal Village in Rajouri, who had been admitted to SMGS Hospital and Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, are recovering and are now out of danger.
Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Principal of GMC Jammu, confirmed the update to Rising Kashmir, stating, “Two children who were admitted in the ICU at SMGS Hospital have been shifted to a regular ward after showing significant recovery. Similarly, one patient from the ICU at GMC Jammu has also been moved to the ward following improvements in his condition.”
He added that the recovery of these critical patients is a positive sign for the community and the medical team.
Tensions had flared yesterday between the Principal of GMC Jammu and the MLA of Rajouri over concerns about the treatment being provided to the patients.
However, Dr. Gupta clarified that doctors at SMGS and GMC Jammu are in regular communication with experts at PGI Chandigarh, receiving hourly guidance on the treatment of the children admitted in both hospitals.
Meanwhile, the mysterious deaths in Bhadal Village continue to raise concerns, with seventeen lives lost so far. An inter-ministerial team, appointed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, visited the village and conducted a two-day investigation. The team collected samples of water, soil, and food grains to determine the causes behind the mysterious fatalities.
