Jammu, Sept 13: Launching a massive fight to eliminate the terrorists involved in the Rajouri encounter that broke down on Tuesday, the security forces on Wednesday gunned down one more terrorist bringing the toll of the slain terrorists to two.
Pertinent to mention here, an encounter had started between the terrorists and the security forces in dense forests of Rajouri area on Tuesday in which one terrorist was killed during a fierce and swift action displayed by the forces.
Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh, said another terrorist was killed on Wednesday.
He said that despite inclement weather conditions, security forces laid a strong cordon around the area, 75 kilometres from Rajouri town, throughout the night while extending the search to nearby areas in the morning.
“The second terrorist was neutralized in the morning today after heavy exchange of fire between the terrorists and the security forces throughout the night”, the Defence PRO Suneel Bartwal said.
He said large quantities of warlike stores have been recovered from the encounter site including Pak made medicines.
On September 12, during the search of the area, security forces recovered a bag left behind by the terrorists containing Pak marked medicines and other things.
The PRO revealed that the operation has been called off.
