Srinagar, 09 Dec: In response to PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti’s visit to the residence of Inspector Masroor Ali Wani, who lost his life in a terrorist attack, J&K BJP senior leader Manzoor Bhat strongly criticised her actions, accusing her of engaging in political posturing within the sacred space of a martyr’s residence.
In a statement, Bhat said, “When she (Mehbooba) and her party leaders didn’t pay a single visit to the hospital during his admission, she now has no right to engage in politics just in front of the police officer’s door. She should be ashamed of this opportunistic act.”
Manzoor said the BJP consistently maintained a presence at Inspector Wani’s bedside and advocated for his airlift to Delhi for specialised treatment. He urged Mufti to introspect on her past tenure, specifically recalling a time when violence prevailed in Kashmir. Mufti’s silence during those tumultuous times should be considered in the context of her current actions, he said.
“The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stands unwaveringly by those who make the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. We stand shoulder to shoulder with these brave individuals, bowing in profound respect and saluting their unparalleled sacrifice. What sets us apart is our commitment to genuine homage, avoiding the politicisation seen elsewhere, including PDP and NC. Our focus remains on sincere support for the families of our fallen heroes,” Bhat said.
