Srinagar, Jan 09: Ghulam Hassan Mir on Monday said the party has got instant public acceptance in Jammu and Kashmir because of its unambiguous agenda and clear vision of its leadership.
He said this while addressing a party meeting at the party headquarters at M2 Church Lane.
Mir extended his gratitude to the party leaders for their hard work and determination to pursue the party agenda over the past more than two years.
He said the Party has the distinction of being J&K’s only political party that obtained public acceptance in the shortest period of time after it was established —in March 2020. “The reason for this unprecedented success is our unambiguous agenda and clarity of our vision. Also, our leaders and workers have been strong enough to put their efforts to make people well aware of our agenda and policies. We must be thankful to the people for bestowing faith and trust in us.”
Party General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir while drawing a line between Apni Party and the traditional political parties, said, “The clarity of our slogans is our strength. Unlike traditional political parties, especially the dynasties, Apni Party does not try to allure or mislead people through fake promises and emotional slogans”.
Stressing on the restoration of peace and tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir, Rafi Ahmad Mir said the people should not have any doubt about the fact that restoration of peace is of utmost importance for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Peace is our requirement to move on the path of prosperity and development. We cannot afford further turmoil and bloodshed here because we have already paid enough price in terms of human lives and political and economic disempowerment due to the protracted conflict,” he said, adding that they have to think about the new generation’s future, which is at stake. “Our youth requires better opportunities and a peaceful environment to grow at par with the rest of the world.”
On the occasion, Party’s Youth Wing President Junaid Azim Mattu said that Apni Party will continue its efforts to ensure better opportunities for the youth. He said they are living in the global village, where investments from outside fetch economic dividends to the local inhabitants. “Almighty has given us enough potential and natural resources to harness for people’s well-being and prosperity. We must focus on harnessing our potential for a better future for our youth and coming generations.”
Meanwhile, a resolution seeking immediate release of the due pension to the old age and handicapped persons was unanimously passed in the meeting.
