Srinagar, Dec 16: Member Parliament (MP), Srinagar, Agha Ruhullah Mehdi on Monday appealed to the Government of India (GoI) to grant age relaxation for JKPSI aspirants.
Speaking in the Parliament, he said that due to irregularities in the recruitment agency’s work, many candidates had aged out of eligibility.
Ruhullah requested the Home Ministry to address the issue regarding the recruitment process for police sub-inspectors in Kashmir. “The recruitment process had been delayed for the past four years, causing significant problems for the aspirants,” he said, adding, “Due to the delay, irregularities occurred, specifically related to the recruitment agency APTEC, which was appointed for the process.”
The MP further said these irregularities led to the extended delay, which in turn affected the candidates. “Due to the delay, many aspirants have now exceeded the upper age limit for the position,” he said.
Mehdi urged that the Government of J&K’s recommendation on this matter be considered, saying it is crucial for the affected candidates.
“The Government of J&K had already raised this issue and recommended that necessary steps be taken to resolve the matter,” he said.
