Srinagar, Jul 21: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Poonch, Aijaz Ahmed Jan, on Monday expressed profound sorrow and extended his heartfelt condolences over the tragic landslide incident that claimed the life of a child in Panchayat Bhainchh, District Poonch.A massive landslide and rockfall, triggered by continuous heavy rainfall, struck the premises of Government Primary School Kalsian, causing significant distress to the local community. Tragically, one innocent child lost their life on the spot, while several others sustained injuries, with some in critical condition.Jan, in a statement issued here, described the incident as a heartbreaking tragedy that has deeply shaken the entire region. He conveyed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty Allah grants the departed soul a place in Jannat-ul-Firdous, and provides strength and patience to the grieving family during this difficult time.The NC leader prayed for the speedy and complete recovery of the injured children and called upon the concerned authorities to carry out a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.The MLA urged the immediate implementation of effective safety measures to prevent such devastating tragedies in vulnerable areas in the future. He reiterated that the safety of children must remain the highest priority. Jan called for an urgent need to review infrastructure and disaster preparedness in vulnerable zones to ensure the protection of lives in the future.
