Srinagar, July 04: Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP) president and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has extended greetings and best wishes to the Sikh community and the entire nation on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Guru Hargobind Ji, the 6th Guru of the Sikh Panth.
“I join millions of devotees in commemorating the life and teachings of Guru Hargobind Ji, the sixth Sikh Guru, whose teachings continue to inspire generations,” she said in a statement.
Mufti said that Guru Hargobind Singh Ji, through his spiritual wisdom, courage, and compassionate approach, played a pivotal role in shaping Sikh philosophy and defending the principles of justice, equality, and freedom. “His teachings emphasised the importance of standing up against oppression and advocating for the rights of all individuals, regardless of their caste, creed, or gender,” she added.
“The teachings of Guru Hargobind Ji have a profound impact on our society, transcending religious boundaries and promoting communal harmony. His message of compassion, selflessness, and the pursuit of truth can guide us in building a just and inclusive society, where every individual’s dignity and rights are respected,” she said.
“On the occasion, it is essential to remember Guru Hargobind Ji’s vision and apply his teachings in our daily lives. We must strive to foster unity, bridge divides, and work towards the upliftment of all sections of society. It is through collective efforts that we can create a society where social justice, religious freedom, and equality flourish,” Mehbooba added.
Chairman Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Ghulam Nabi Azad extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the birth anniversary of the sixth Nanak, Guru Hargobind Ji.
“Guru Hargobind Ji was true ‘Sache Patshah’ who enlightened and empowered people through spiritual wisdom. We are fortunate that Guru Ji visited Kashmir to spread the message of peace and harmony in the Valley,” Azad said while remembering Guru Hargobind Ji’s contribution to the establishment of Sri Akal Takht at Amritsar.
