Samba, July 30: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu and former minister, S. Manjit Singh on Tuesday said the civic works are “poorly implemented” in Bari Brahmana.
“The state in which the people have been forced to live is inhuman, and intolerable without proper roads, and basic amenities,” Singh said while speaking at a meeting in ward number 13, Municipal Committee, Bari Brahmana in Samba district. He was accompanied by Ex-Corporator, Shamsher Chand, the party said in a statement.
“The participants in the meeting informed about their displeasure over the ignorant attitude of the authorities, and respective departments which are responsible for developing the infrastructure,” the statement said.
Addressing the meeting, the former minister expressed his concern, while assuring that the people will not be left helpless and voiceless. He said the party is committed to work for their overall development.
“We are committed to ensuring equitable development in all the regions of Jammu as well as Kashmir. The administration has disappointed the people with their autocratic attitude,” he said. “The circumstances have widened the gap between the people and the administration that showcases the failure of the government to work for the public welfare.”
The Apni Party leader said the people are concerned over the weakening of an elected government in Jammu & Kashmir with the empowerment of the Governor of J&K. “The statehood restoration of J&K is a must as well as the full empowerment of the elected government following the assembly elections that are proposed to be held in the erstwhile state,” he added.
