Ramban, July 30: A delegation of over 100 concerned citizens, led by Advocate Fairoz Khan, former Working President of the Youth Congress and former National President of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), on Tuesday met with DC Ramban, Baseer ul Haq Choudhary, to address critical infrastructure and security concerns in the region.
The primary concern discussed was the urgent need for constructing a road under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) from Rajgarh, specifically from Kandi Nallah (Rajgarh) to Donger, spanning 7 kilometres.
The delegation said this road is crucial for connecting the unconnected habitations of Donger, Garale, Dandla, and Parsri. The members expressed concerns over attempts to redirect the road from Rajgarh to Kumet and then to Dandla, potentially leaving key areas unconnected. “The partially constructed road from Kandi Nallah to Donger, extending to Dandla and Parsri, has already faced issues due to vested interests seeking to alter its route,” they said.
The delegation advocated for the road to follow the Rajgarh to Donger route, covering Garale, Dandla, and Parsri before reaching Kumet.
DC Ramban assured the delegation of his commitment to the project, saying he will prioritise it. The DC said he plans to personally visit the site in early August to ensure all relevant villages are connected. The delegation expressed gratitude for his proactive approach.
The second issue raised was the relocation of the police post from Pasri Rajgarh to Kumet, which is 4 kilometres below its original location. Established in 1991, the relocation has heightened security concerns among the residents. The delegation urged the reinstatement of the police post at its original location in Pasri Rajgarh to improve security.
The delegation included local Sarpanches, Panchs, and other community leaders. Advocate Fairoz Khan highlighted the urgency of these issues and called for swift action to ensure the well-being and security of the local communities.
The Deputy Commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to addressing these concerns promptly and effectively.
