Baramulla, Sept 12: Ghulam Hassan Mir, the vice president of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, on Thursday submitted his nomination papers for the Gulmarg constituency.
Following this submission, Mir told reporters that the Apni party wants to see peace and inclusiveness in Jammu & Kashmir.
He said that people in jails are also residents of J&K and that political differences are the only distinction between them. He added that candidates from various political spectrums, including Jamaat-e-Islami and Er Rasheed, are participating in the elections, calling it a positive step toward inclusivity.
The Apni Party leader said voters have the right to choose their representatives and that some parties, unhappy with the involvement of others, have labelled them as “BJP partners” or “terrorists”. “The people of Jammu & Kashmir are prepared to reject such divisive politics in the upcoming elections,” he said.
Mir appealed to people to vote and support him in the upcoming assembly elections. In his message, he said, “I belong to this constituency and I am well aware of the needs of the people here. I know what kind of public issues and grievances they are grappling with. I request your support and your vote in these elections, and I will ensure that public issues and grievances are effectively resolved. My vision is to bring prosperity and development to the people of Gulmarg. I will implement various initiatives aimed at creating employment opportunities for the local youth.”
He added, “The Apni Party is committed to working towards peace, prosperity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir, alongside ensuring the political and economic empowerment of its people.”
In the Gulmarg Assembly Constituency, 14 candidates have submitted their nomination papers to contest the seat.
