Ganderbal, Oct 05: A nomadic man was critically injured in a bear attack in the forest area of Cherwan Kangan, located in the Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir, on Saturday.
The injured man has been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Khan, 50, son of Ahmad Khan, a resident of Rajouri. According to reports, the incident occurred while Khan was moving through the forest, when he was suddenly attacked by a bear. He sustained serious injuries during the attack.
Khan was initially rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan for treatment. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar for further medical attention.
Local authorities have urged people living near forest areas to remain vigilant.
