Directs fast-track resolution of pending grievances
Interacts with citizens; several cases disposed on the spot
Srinagar, July 31: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha engaged with citizens and addressed their issues during the “LG’s Mulaqaat” live public grievance hearing program at the Civil Secretariat today.
The Lt Governor reviewed the actions taken by Administrative Secretaries, Deputy Commissioners, and other officials on grievances received from the public. He instructed officials to expedite the resolution of pending grievances on a fast-track basis, ensuring that the system remains accountable and responsive.
Reaffirming the J&K Administration’s commitment to improving the grievance redressal mechanism, the Lt Governor highlighted recent initiatives such as the J&K SAMADHAN Portal and App, designed to simplify the process of lodging and addressing grievances. “We aim to enhance transparency in public service delivery and empower citizens, with special attention to marginalized sections,” he said.
During today’s session, several grievances were resolved on the spot. Abdul Rashid Sheikh from Bamloora village, Ganderbal, expressed gratitude for the resolution of issues related to irrigation water facilities..Ulfat Bi from Poonch District thanked the administration for addressing her long-standing grievance concerning the PMAY housing scheme.
The Lt Governor also addressed UbaidFayazNajar’s complaint from Bandipora District regarding the issuance of OBC certificates, instructing the relevant department to facilitate the process for eligible beneficiaries. In response to ShRakesh Kumar’s complaint from Samba, he directed health officials to review the operation of the oxygen plant at District Hospital Samba and other government health institutions.
Additionally, the Lt Governor reviewed preparations for Independence Day celebrations. The proceedings were conducted by Sh Mohammad Aijaz, Secretary of the Public Grievances Department, with ShAtalDulloo, Chief Secretary, along with Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, and other senior officials participating both in person and virtually.
