Srinagar, Aug 09: On the auspicious occasion of Shravan Shukla Panchami, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today performed the Pujan of Shri Amarnathji Chhari Mubarak at Mahadev Gir Dashnami Akhada in Srinagar.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Mahant Deependra Giri, the custodian of the Chhari Mubarak. The Lt Governor sought the blessings of Lord Shiva, praying for peace, progress, and the well-being of all.
The Chhari-Pujan is a significant ritual marking the lead-up to the culmination of the annual Shri Amarnathji pilgrimage.
Following tradition, the holy Mace, known as Chhari Mubarak, will be carried to the Shri Amarnathji cave, continuing the sacred Chhari Mubarak Yatra. Senior officials including Dr. Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, CEO of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board; Vidhi Kumar Birdi, IGP Kashmir; Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, and other dignitaries participated in the ceremony.
